JOB DESCRIPTION

As a correctional officer, you will be part of a team where you have daily contact with the client. The tasks at the prison are varied: care, surveillance, searches, and security work are mixed with release planning and conversation/motivation work. Work at the remand prison is often routine-based and focused on care and security tasks. Clients may be held in remand for extended periods without meeting anyone other than their lawyer and the staff at the remand prison, which places special demands on you as a correctional officer.

Working as a correctional officer means you can make a difference for other people and contribute to a better society. To thrive and succeed in your role, it is important that you share the Swedish Prison and Probation Service's fundamental values of a humane view of humanity, respect for the individual, and the belief that people can develop.
